A very warm welcome to the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Rose Hill Primary School.
The Rose Hill PTA is a registered charity (1060713) that works with the school as an essential part of school life and we aim to provide both fun activities for our school children and help fund things through the school. All parents/guardians/carers and staff are automatically members of the PTA and are very welcome to attend meetings. The PTA Committee are a very small and friendly group of parents and teachers who volunteer their time and energy to a wide variety of events and activities such as children’s discos, sponsored events, Festive Fundays, Christmas card designs, tuck shop, ice lolly sales, raffles, and non-uniform days, all to raise money for activities, equipment, and experiences which cannot always be provided by the regular school budget. The PTA’s work has provided valuable resources for the benefit of our children, notably funding per child towards their annual school trip, the outdoor classroom, forest school equipment and orchard, toys and games for the playground and specific resources or experiences for different year groups. A recent example being first aid training for all year 5 pupils.
We meet every half term to catch up on plans and ideas to coordinate events and everyone has a chance to share their thoughts and feelings before voting on how the fundraised money should be spent. We keep up to date with the whole school community via a termly newsletter, posters around the school and notice boards, Rose Hill PTA Facebook page and through SchoolPing messages. We recognise that everyone is able to contribute different amounts and we list some ways people can help here. If you’d like to be involved in organising an event, the best thing to do is to come along to a meeting to share your ideas - the committee are more than happy to support you through all the logistics of event planning and running. Of course, not everyone will enjoy or feel able to run an event, but if every family gave us an hour of their time, then we’d have more than enough volunteers for every event that we run. You can find a list of our upcoming events here and the volunteer sign-up sheets will be shared through SchoolPing about a month before each event.
A big thank you to all who have supported us to run these events, especially since the Covid-19 lockdowns. If you think you have a skill that could help us, or any ideas, suggestions or questions please get in touch.
